Buzau seen in only one hour seems just about what it is, a small town in the foothills, on the border between Moldova and Wallachia, where people do not have an accent. The newly restored central Dacia Square stands out, here you can find the superb Communal Palace, which unfortunately today stands face to face with a hideous mall. From Dacia square begins a nice pedestrian street, which although is small is distinguished by it’s great urban landscape and public furniture , which were chosen with taste and match nicely with the old buildings that sorounds it. I really liked those benches made out of massive granite pieces. The shopping streets is capped by “Bazaar” commercial complex which really is a civilized bazaar located in an old building where you are not afraid to go (unlike the bazaar in Constanta for example). I could not help noticing that the whole city and all the buses were plastered by sponsored city hall posters with the message “Choose Life! Without Drugs!” . Does the city really have a serious problem , or is it just a classic maneuver of money laundering through a public campaign? I’m sorry i did not get to see the lovely Crang Park but I hope to return to this city, but in other circumstances and during more beautiful weather. Hope you enjoy the pictures below.
