Cluj Napoca weekend

Went for a short trip to Cluj Napoca or Klausenburg as the Germans  used to call it , the capital in the heart of Transilvania. This time i went without a car , took a train from Constanta to Bucharest , that was about 3 hours time and costed 60 RON , and I was supposed to take the morning 05:45 train to Cluj , but it was impossible to wake up at that time , so i Took the 9 AM bus , that made about 9 hours time , and costed 74 RON (leaves from Militari bus station).

Cluj , the same nice city that i enjoyed to see again , a place that while it is inside Romania , doesn’t quite feel like it , it’s more clean , the buildings are more nice , the people seem to be nicer , and the atmosphere is more calm ; at least for me , when i got back to Romanian – balcanic atmosphere of Constanta I could really feel the difference. I got to see the bothanical garden for the first time – it’s worth a visit , checked the view of the city from the top of Cetatuia hill , night time it’s a must see , and the main reason i went there – for the night life 😀 . Even tough the city is not as busy and packed with students as during the university academic year , there is still a large young population and nice flux of foreigners to fill the pubs , bars  and clubs in the weekends. Checked out a variety of places from the beach style Janis Land , a replica of Vama Veche just outside the city (was a real adventure to get there) , to more prestigious clubs in the center. Met  my old friend in Cluj , who was kind enough to host me (Thanks Dumi 🙂 ) and also some new people in the city , which I hope to see again one day. It seems like nobody is a local of the city , every young person came from somewhere else here to work or visit ,  I hope one day to also live there for a while , it’s looks a lot more interesting than my home town of Constanta (except for summer time 🙂 ) Also if you  are in town and catch a football game while you are in the city , and it’s played during the night on the cool new Cluj Arena , buy a ticket , the atmosphere is amazing there , i only caught a glimpse. On the way back I took the night train , directly to Constanta , which made about 14 hours (including one hour delay) and costed 113 RON.
